The concept of traditional public safety response tends to shift in a motion of the pendulum. We often look at the current standards and adapt to what is needed for the time in which service to the public is needed. For example, fire response has evolved with the needs of the community from reactive response to proactive fire codes and inspections. With this in mind, discuss the similarities and differences in public safety, pre-9/11 and what it has transformed into today. has changed significantly in public safety and are these changes necessarily for the greater good of community in which our public safety members are sworn to serve? List and discuss at least one area of change for the fire service, police service, and emergency medical response.
