Students are required to read the articles and respond to the articles in a thoughtful, critical, and/or analytical manner. I am not looking for a summary (e.g., “Marks et al. stated that CBT is not effective for schizophrenia.”). Responses should not be answers regarding factual clarification (although you are always welcome to ask for factual clarification or via email!) but rather should be designed to exhibit your meaningful understanding of the material. I am looking for evidence that you have read, processed, and thought about the article in an analytical way and related it critically to the course content. You will upload a 1-page response via Blackboard board every week.
Discussion Questions: You are to generate 3 Discussion Questions from your understanding of the article. These questions should be clear and not have (y/n) as an answer. The questions should stimulate discussion or controversy among your classmates*
• In your opinion, how strong a case do the authors make in their review of the relevant literature?
• What is the biggest limitation of the body of research reviewed in the article?
• In your opinion, what is the most important “take home” message in the article?
• If you could design a follow-up study to explore an area of research not adequately addressed by the article, what would it be?
